Continuous Motion-Eye Hand

Equipment: Chalkboard and chalk.

Purpose: To develop saccadic skills, and increase peripheral awareness.

Procedure:

  • Therapist writes 10 consecutive numbers randomly placed on the board.
  • Patient finds the first number and circles it three times.
  • While he/she is circling it he/she scans for the next number. Without ever stopping the chalk from moving, the patient continues locating and circling the numbers in order.

Gradations:

  • Use alphabet instead of numbers.
  • Increase from ten up, if patient is able.
  • Add a metronome.4.
  • Increase the speed.
